How many people do you know who've tried Bentang Jawa more than once?
Another familiar face from our urban cycling scene here’s Ryan Fachri @ryanfakhrii. Though chances are you know him better as Alek.

Out of everyone in our circle, Alek has probably logged the most miles on every line of PIAS. A fixed-gear rider through and through, he rocks the Tri-collab Agra as his daily beater. When he signed up for his first @bentangjawa in 2024, he switched to the OG Hi-viz Yellow Scarab and pointed it east.
Things were going well until they weren’t. At Km 1,049, an encounter with a motorcycle ended his ride with a broken clavicle and a DNF. You can do everything right and still have the ride taken away from you. That’s ultra cycling sometimes.
Two years ago, Alek took on Bentang Jawa as part of a pair with his soul-brother (or, depending on the day: his frienemy), @afiffzan. Before this chaos duo, Afif’s first journey came in 2023, and he did it all by himself.
This year, it’s Alek’s turn.
With the support of good friends and a handful of *cough* brands *cough* that believe in him, Alek will once again line up aboard, this time with the Scarab 2.0. The goal is simple: finish the ride he started and conquer Bentang Jawa.
We told Alek that, whatever happens, this will always be a story for us to tell. He tried in 2025 and didn't make it. This year, he's back on another Scarab, and we're wishing him to finally get it done. And honestly, even things don't go as planned, we'll still have a pretty good story to tell: Alek, the guy who didn't finish Bentang Jawa twice, both times on different Scarabs.
