We're still here.
We hear you. We read your messages. We know you've been asking the same question for years.
"So... when's the next PIAS coming?"
The short answer? We're cooking.
It feels like only yesterday that we launched Scarab 2.0 in December 2019. The roadmap was clear, the pipeline was ready, and we couldn't wait to see what came next.
Then, at the beginning of 2020, the world decided it had other plans. For a while, everything stopped.
As many of you already know, every PIAS frame is manufactured in Taiwan. The situation forced all of us to adapt to new manufacturing realities, and for a small independent brand like ours, we had to work within a completely new set of conditions. It was a challenge.
So we hit pause.
Not because we lost interest. Because we refused to compromise.
By the end of 2025, things finally began to feel possible again. Rather than continue another endless exchange of emails, we decided there was only one thing to do: get on a plane.
In March 2026, we flew to Taipei Cycle Show.
For those unfamiliar, TCS isn't your average bike expo. It's one of the biggest B2B bicycle exhibitions in the world, where brands meet manufacturers, suppliers, and the people quietly shaping the cycling industry. (We'll save the story about bumping into Gary Fisher for another time.)
Our mission was simple: reconnect with our long-time manufacturing partner and, if necessary, start looking for another one.
Turns out, we only needed one meeting.
The company's principal remembered us from our very first visit back in 2015. This time, though, we were also introduced to the second generation of the family, young, incredibly capable, and, thankfully, fluent in English. Thirty minutes later, we were back. Just like that.
A few days after the meeting, we found ourselves walking through their factory in Taichung once again. Eleven years had passed since our last visit. New welding technology. New finishing processes. New paint catalogues. Plenty had changed, but the craftsmanship that made us choose them in the first place was still there. Not to mention the QC process.
We flew back to Jakarta with something we hadn't felt in a long time. Momentum.
Since then, it's been a steady rhythm of exchanged drawings, technical discussions, impromptu Zoom calls, and more emails than we'd like to admit.
And we're happy to say: Production…
has officially restarted.
One of our most beloved lineup is making a comeback, and it won't simply be a rerun. We've taken the opportunity to improve it in every way we can, starting with the heart of the frame: the tubing.
That trip also led to another series of meetings during TCS. We sat down with one of the most respected names in steel tubing, and what began as a conversation quickly grew into something much bigger.
We're not quite ready to tell you everything.
But if steel means as much to you as it does to us, you might want to start putting some money aside. Because when you finally see the next PIAS, there's a very good chance you'll recognise a very familiar logo on the seat tube.
It’s been a heartfelt process, and it’s created quite a story.
Some stories just take a little longer to be told.
